Heavy Rain and then some! I met Dave, Bernd and James at the Pendam car park and we had planned to head out to Anglers Retreat but the weather was so bad we decided to do the Summit Trail instead.

I was still suffering a little with a cold that I've had for a week so fully kitted out in my waterproofs we headed off. I took it easy at first not wanting to push myself but once onto the leg burner I put in a bit more effort and started to feel OK.

Then head a loud cracking and crunching sound from my front wheel just before the final climb up to Hippity Hop and on closer insepction there was considerable play in the front wheel and a lot of wobbling and nasty sounds coming from it when it rotated. I decided to miss out the Hippity Hop section and limp back to the cars. I'm not sure what broke yet but I shall spend some time doing bicycle maintenance in the shed today.

A strangely enjoyable ride despite the very wet conditions. Nice to feel like a five year-old again spalshing through puddles and not caring about the mud and wet.
